Ocean Nutrition Canada, the largest manufacturer of Omega-3 fish in the world, chose Explore Green’s Fabien Cousteau as their collaborative partner. At the Supply Side West trade show in Las Vegas, Ocean Nutrition and Explore Green launched the effort with a VIP reception and presentation at The Wynn Hotel’s chic Tryst nightclub for key customers. Fabien created a multimedia presentation on fisheries sustainability and signed commemorative photos for a packed house.
Growing up on the salt-stained decks of his famous Grandfather’s ships, Calypso and Alcyone, Fabien Cousteau was destined to follow in the family footsteps of exploring and tirelessly working to protect our planets immense and endangered marine habitats. Diving since age four, Fabien was irrevocably imprinted with an unwavering appreciation for the wonder, beauty, and importance of our aquatic ecosystems to sustaining life on this big blue planet of ours. From his vast experience in the field, coupled with a degree in environmental economics from Boston University, Fabien has refined a public policy platform grounded by his strong belief that environmental discipline can be the basis for innovative solutions that strike a balance between regional and global environmental problems and the realities of market economies. Fabien’s passion for maintaining the world’s ocean resources has lead him to spearheading new product development and business models for environmental sustainability. In 2006, Fabien, along with his father Jean Michel Cousteau, and sister Celine, completed a three year multi hour series for PBS called Ocean Adventures. Topics explored in the series ranged from the Grey Whale migration of the West coast of the Americas, to the magical coral spawning of the Caribbean, to diving with quadrons of goliath groupers, and the ghost ships of the Great Lakes. Recent efforts include empowering communities to become involved with responsible “Re-Planting” of key marine species in their local habitats in distressed bodies of water around the world. Initial targeted projects in 2010-2011 include responsible re-planting of oysters in New York Harbor, sea turtles in El Salvador, mangroves in South Florida, and corals in the Maldives. Recently Fabien c-launched Natural Entertainment, which is working on numerous projects related to exploration and environmental awareness through television and other media. An active writer, he is currently working on a children’s book trilogy. Fabien has been seen on network television, the Oprah Winfrey Show, and as a regular guest/contributor to NBC’s Today Show. Additionally, he is a sought after speaker at a variety of foreign and domestic Environmental and water conferences. For more information visit: www.oceanfutures.org |
